Do you offer coaching for athletes?

Coaching is held on weekly between 5.30 pm and 6.30pm. A club coach will be present to guide athletes through a season of planned activities. Coaching will be split into younger and older (10 years and above) age groups. Please stay with your child for the session as parental assistance is essential. Training Night: Wednesday

Is parental assistance required?
Little Athletics is not just for children, it needs the active participation of parents as well. Parents are expected to offer their services in some way. Tasks include starting, timing, marking, measuring, raking, recording and chaperoning. No previous experience is required. Children like to see their parents participating and parents get a better appreciation of their children’s accomplishments if they are involved directly. Your assistance in setting up/packing away equipment is essential for the smooth running of the club. A roster will be distributed to families at the start of the season which will identify when you are requested to assist in the set-up and pack-up. If you are interested in finding out more about the rules and regulations, the South Australia Little Athletics Association (SALAA) Officials Club runs courses at various times, and the club will pay your fees so you can learn the rules of each event in more detail. See a committee member if you are interested in attending a course. The canteen and barbecue are important fundraisers for the club. The profits from these activities help us to keep the joining fees low. It is expected that the parents/caregivers of each family do at least one shift in the season. A schedule will be provided early on in the season. Please check the roster to see when you are on duty.
What age groups do you cover?

Little Athletics is for children of all ages. Children can join Enfield Little Athletics through as Tiny Tots if they are between the ages of three and four. This is a great way to introduce your children to fun outdoor activities from a young age. It is a modified program suited to the ability of toddlers. From there, children participate in an Under 6 and Under 7 program, which incorporates little athletics events in their activities. From Under 8, children enter the little athletes program which involves core athletic events for children. This age group goes up until Under 17’s. The age of the athlete in the calendar year determines which age group they compete with. For example, an Athlete turning 7 in December of a calendar year would be competing in the Under 8’s age group. For more information, you can either get in touch with us directly or read more on the Little Athletics Australia website.
